Well, I have two of them, on the right side of the picture which isn't showing here was another one on the other side of the porch. I took them and painted them black for my sister's wedding back in January.
One of them, which came from my Cowboy's grandparents dump, yes they used it on there farm and we dug it out and painted it gray, and it was used in an earlier wedding about 20 years ago, my brother's.
We purchased the 2nd one at an antique shop several years later with a lid.
I have had them setting outside for quiet sometime and they are really starting to show it. They have been painted gray, green, red and now black. So after the wedding I brought them in the house to stay. I had hoped that I could get a glass top for them, but couldn't find one cheap enough.
But then I went to a resale shop the other day and look what I found to put on top. What do you think?
The story behind the little tree in it is, my Cowboy went to dig it up and move it somewhere else in the yard and he chopped to close. For sure it would die, I brought it in the house and put it in a glass jar full of water, it has grown 6" or more since spring. So this morning I put it in dirt and in hopes my Cowboy can plant it this fall. We hope it doesn't die after putting it in the dirt. I think he is going to put it down by one of the ponds.
Love to hear ideas, I am still thinking but drawing a blank at this point.
God is good,
Kim

Hi Kim,
I love both of those milk cans. If you want to use them still as tables....I have seen the round plywood at maybe Target or Big Lots??? You could put that on top and paint it to match the can so they would look like tables. They also have a thicker round at Lowes in the decorative wood area. Also, have you actually gone to a glass shop and just asked how much a round piece would be. At my work they had to replace something (I can't remember what it was now) but it was custom cut glass and it was not expensive at all.
If you keep them as they are I like the little harvest basket with the plant in it.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I think you need to mod podge something or letters or something onto the cans....they are just....plain.
I wonder if you can find some vintage cowboy stuff...postcards?
You know the letters I have for the DOG FOOD can? Those would work also.....I have a glass top you can have...it is the size of a coffee table....about 2.5 x 3.5 ft....I think.
