Hyperbaric Treatments, What's it about?

This is where I go for the Hyperbaric Treatments
I have been dealing with osteomyelitis (bone infection) in my right leg for 11 1/2 years.
12 1/2 years ago we found bone cancer in my right leg and the doctors cut the bone out and put a prosthetic in it to replace the bone. After cancer treatments, I got a bacterial infection from a pic line and it went into my right leg, between the bone and prosthetic.
We had the infection under control and almost gone, until about 2 years ago it came back very strong. The doctors give us no hope of keeping my leg and has been trying to get me to amputate.
I know that my God has healed me. So I have really tried hard to keep my faith and am waiting for my complete healing. Call me hard headed but that is just me and God told me.
I was watching the news back in March and they were reporting on this new wound care place.
I listened to just a small bit of it and had to start school, but what I did hear was that it worked on wounds that were hard to heal up. Was this God showing me something he might want me to do in the healing process, not sure. I know that my God can heal anything without any man, medicine or treatment help, but sometimes he uses these things. So I told my Cowboy about it and of course he said we should call. I did and WOW, I am already doing the treatments and seeing a difference.
So I will tell you a little about it and here are some pictures so that you can see what I go into and do.
From the pamphlet they have:
Hyperbaric Treatment
HBOT or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used to treat a limited but diverse series of illnesses. It dramatically increases the amount of oxygen entering the bloodstream, which aides in the healing of certain wounds and other disorders including;
* Diabetic leg and foot wounds
* Gas gangrene
*Chronic Refractory Osteomyelitis (bone infection that has not responded to the usual treatments of surgery or antibiotics)
* Radiation injuries
*Compromised skin grafts and flaps
*Crush injuries/compartment syndrome
*Anaerobic infections
*Cyanide poisoning
*Carbon monoxide poisoning
*Air or gas embolism
*Decompression illness
*Thermal burns
*Necrotizing soft tissue infections
How does HBOT work?
HBOT is a simple concept. The air we breathe only contains 21% oxygen. HBOT allows the patient to breathe 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber. High concentrations of oxygen are delivered into the bloodstream at 10-20 times the normal amount. This elevation in blood oxygen promotes the repair of injured and diseased tissue.
And it goes on and tells more about what to expect.
So here is what I get to do...
starting at the outside of the building...
side of building with warning sign telling of oxygen in use...
front door and another sign warning people not to smoke because of oxygen in use. Do they read and lesson... NO, I came out today and there where 2 people standing up by the door and smoking.
I have to put a hospital gown on, nothing can go into the chamber with you but a water bottle, not even your wedding ring, nothing. I have to lie down on the stretcher or sit up, but you can't sit up all the way inside of the chamber...

then the tech wheels me into this but before he closes the door he takes my blood pressure, grounds me so that I won't burn up, gives me water to drink so that I can pop my ears, because it's just like diving, and hospital air to breath every 45 minutes for 5 minutes. (That's what the yellow tube is hanging out off the smiling door)...

Then he closes the door behind me and I sit in the chamber for 2 hours. I can watch TV, you can't see it very well in this picture but there is one just above the chamber, that's what the black box is on the right of the picture. It does have a speaker in the chamber so I can hear the TV and talk to the tech if I need too.
It's really not so bad and once you get use to it, it goes pretty fast. They did tell me I could even take a nap if I wanted, but that probably won't happen it is noisy in there.
God is amazing how he shows you things that he wants to use in your life and I just hope that I can represent him well with these treatments.
Blessings to all that read this and I hope that it helps you,
Kim

That was very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I was wondering about what it was and why you were doing it. I will be praying for you as you do this treatment. I look forward to hearing a great report about this and God's hand in your life. Kimberly B.
