A Time for Everything

The weather here today is cooler than it has been since early June.
Fall is up on us. I can wait, I just love the cooler weather, not cold, but cooler.
The first of September always meant that the county fair was coming soon. Excitement was in the air for showing chickens and all the other livestock and harvest goods from the local gardeners and farmers.
But this year we aren't going to be showing. The kids decide last year to sell out. They sold everything, chickens, pens, feeders, waterers, everything. Last year it didn't seem to bother me but this year I am feeling a little lost of what to do with myself. There isn't any need of helping the kids getting the chickens health tests, washing them up for the shows, or hauling them to the county and state fairs. I am missing all that. I really didn't think I would every say that but I am.
Here are some pictures from one of the shows in 2005 and pictures of the kids now. Oh, how they have grown.

Yes, they have grown.
And here are some of their show chickens. I do believe I could just fill this blog post up with just chicken pictures as many as we have.
