CHOCOLATE GRAVY!!!

Can you tell that I am excited! My family and I just love CHOCOLATE GRAVY! You either love or hate it, and we love it. Yes, there was a time we had it every Sunday morning before church just to get the morning started right. But we have since grown out of that. OH MY, we of all people got tried of it!
I got up this morning reading everyone's blogs about fall and for some reason CHOCOLATE GRAVY came to mind. That nice warm gravy on this wonderful cool morning of fall just sounds delicious! So yes, I had to go make some, and while I was in the kitchen I thought "Oh, I can put this on my blog!"
So here it goes my version and then the real recipe :)
3 heaping T of flour...
7 heaping T of sugar...

This is what it looks like in the bowl :)
3 heaping T of cocoa (of course heaping)

all together.
3 heaping T of butter in pan to melt.
"I'm melting!" hehe
Once I get it melted down to this I pour in the flour, sugar, cocoa mixture.
Mix it well
then add...

Okay the recipe calls for 3 cups of milk but mine is more like 4 cups,
because I measure it in my little bowl.

Mix well...
and bring to boiling...

then add 1 t. of vanilla (and no I don't put anymore or less)
mix well.

While you are cooking this you can pop some biscuits in the oven so they are all done at the same time.
Yes, It looks as if they are ready!

I serve everything hot. Straight out of the oven, ready!
Break up the biscuit and pour over the gravy!
Can you see it steaming?
And this is the happy face that I get to see when I serve it to my family.
OK, now for the true recipe:
(this comes from a good friend of mine that she got from someone else)
Chocolate Gravy
3 T flour (I use whole wheat)
7 T sugar
3 T cocoa
3 T butter
3 c milk
1 t vanilla
Melt butter in pan and add dry ingredients, mix well. Pour in milk, while stirring and bring to boil then stir in vanilla.
Pour over hot biscuits.
Serving 4 to 6 people.
I hope you enjoy!
May God bless your day, I know that mine is now that I have CHOCOLATE GRAVY in my stomach,
Kim
