It is 5 days into 2009 and wow what a holiday season we had. It was quick, fun and such a blessing.
Right after Thanksgiving our Christmas began, my husband bought tickets for the kids to go see Casting Crowns Christmas concert and guess who got to take them... yes ME! What fun that was. My daughter ask if she could give her best friend (second daughter) a ticket for Christmas also, of course Dad could not say no. My youngest sister, son, 2 daughters and myself went, it was a blast.
Then several weeks later my other sister called and they had 1 extra ticket to go see Toby Mac in concert, so my kids got that for Christmas. That was all God, we got up there where he was performing and was able to buy another ticket so that both of the kids got to see him. The seat that we bought was right behind my sisters youth group, wow if that wasn't God!
The kids had their Homeschool Band Christmas concert, what great music that was.
Christmas parties and family was also a joy.
We went on our traditional seeing the Christmas lights in the park and balloon blowups at the castle. And not to forget the birthday cake for Jesus. We always try to find a new favorite for the year. This year we had Chocolate covered cherry cake, yum.
Then after Christmas we got to go to a dear friends wedding, who we will miss. She married a young man who is in the military and stationed in Hawaii, lucky her. Of course we will get to see her again but it will be awhile.
More parties with our youth group on New Years Eve.
I am getting tried of just remembering all we done this past month. But what a blessing it was. I am so glad that we live in a free country where we can celebrate Jesus' birthday.
Happy New Year!
Kim

Thanks for coming by an leaving me a nice comment on my latest post...it's funny, but my taste in colors have changed over the years. When dh and I were first married our bedroom/bathroom were blue and pink...our living room/kitchen/dining area had a lot of hunter green...of course, we didn't live in the same house either.
Take care and thanks again for visiting me!
